Reinterpreting Queen's University's Silver Collection

George II Cream Jug by Louis Laroch

This beautiful and rare little George II Cream Jug was made in London in 1735 by Louis Laroch. It has a simple body which has been raised from a single sheet of silver by hammering in concentric circles. The surface was then planished to smooth and remove hammer marks. The cast feet were made separately, probably by another silversmith, and soldered to the body.
