Reinterpreting Queen's University's Silver Collection

A Pair of Silver Cockerels

These detailed and beautifully chased silver cockerels have a purely decorative function but are also symbols of extravagance and status. They had suffered considerable damage through use at University dinners and were conserved in 2002 by Graham Harron of Killyleagh. The cockerels were presented by the Queen’s University Association in 1960.
