Gordon Delap comes from Letterkenny, County Donegal and studied music composition at City University in London and at Queen's University, Belfast. He has been artist in residence both in Brussels and Berlin and has recently received commissions from the British Council, Spacenet and BBC Radio 3. He is currently lecturer in music technology at the National University of Ireland in Maynooth.
This soundscape explores the idea of the cockerel's crow as a victory of day over night, of darkness over light. Delap has used recordings of cockerels and merged these with sounds of metal and other materials.
